Confidence is the foundation for any artist to grow in their pursuit. Without confidence, an artist cannot showcase their true potential and creativity.
Confidence is not something that comes naturally to everyone, and it is something that needs to be developed over time. In this article, we will discuss the importance of confidence in art and how you can achieve it.
People achieve confidence through various ways, be it social media or commercial success. It is essential to find your way of achieving confidence and push it.
For me, social media and the appreciation of my family and friends were my initial base for developing confidence in my art. I remember posting my first drawing of a ship on instagram and having those likes and comments motivated me to create more and more.
The ship that I drew at that time was then presented to His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin and that moment was incredible. I have discussed the same incident in my first blog. You can definitely have a read by clicking the button below.
However, as artists venture into the realm of social media, they inevitably encounter criticism, which can pose a significant challenge in order to maintain confidence.
The digital world amplifies opinions, and not all of them will be favorable. Negative comments and critiques can dent an artist's self-assurance and undermine their belief in their artistic abilities.
During this time, it is essential to ignore the negative comments and focus on the positive ones and the amount of appreciation you are receiving.
You won't be able to succeed if you stop now, but if you move past this and continue on, you'll be able to try new things and step outside of your comfort zone. Criticism is a part of growth, and if you let it get to you, it will only hinder your progress.
I too, at one point, uploaded a half picture of Jackie Chan on my social media account and asked my followers to guess who was in the photo.
To my surprise, I got to know that some people started discussing why I was trying to emphasize the significance of my art.
At first, I was anxious about the response, and was about to remove the post, but upon reflection, I realized that the number of individuals who might take offense to my post is minimal compared to the amount of love and support it received.
I came to the conclusion that deleting that post would have been a mistake and could have hindered my growth as an artist.
Therefore, I believe that it is important to stay true to one's creative instincts and not worry too much about the opinions of others.
Instead, we should focus on expressing ourselves in the most authentic way possible. In doing so, we can truly flourish in our artistic journey and create works that are genuine and meaningful.
Confidence is not just about believing in yourself; it is also about showcasing yourself. Once you have developed confidence in your work, you need to showcase it to the world in a way that highlights its importance.
One way to showcase your confidence in your art is to make sure that you are presenting it in the best possible light.
This can be done by posting high-quality images that have been well-edited, along with insightful captions that give your audience a glimpse into the journey that it took to create the art.
Another way to showcase your art is to shoot a time-lapse of your work and post it on social media. This not only allows your audience to see how your art is made but also gives them a sense of the dedication and effort that goes into each piece.
Knowing there is always space for improvement, I work tirelessly to present both my art and myself in the best possible light.
I am committed to developing my abilities and pushing the limits of my artistic potential with every brushstroke and creative attempt. I'm committed to doing my finest work and supporting my art's continued development even though the path to perfection is still long.
Remember, confidence is not just about believing in yourself; it is also about showing others how important your art is and that it matters.
By taking the time to present your art in the best possible light, you are showing your audience that you value your work and that it is worth their time and attention.
With dedication and effort, you can develop the confidence you need to become a successful and influential artist.
Dear Mustafa, I have observed your work firsthand, and it consistently portrays the sincerity of your thoughts. It is evident that you, as an artist, bring out your finest creations when you remain genuine and selfless.
